Sharon St. John, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York in 1970, before being sent to foster care at the age of 8. At almost thirteen years of age, she was finally back with her family living in Freeport, Long Island. While attending Drake Business School in Manhattan she obtained her GED on the road to becoming a legal secretary. After obtaining her GED, she decided to continue her education when she enrolled at Nassau Community College, majoring in Criminal Justice. There she obtained her Associate Degree but then she realized that wasn’t going to satisfy the goal she set for herself, so she enrolled at John Jay College for Criminal Justice. After her first semester at John Jay College, she started apply for law enforcement jobs and in January 2000, she landed the job with the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Metropolitan Correction Center (MCC) in Manhattan, New York. While working her dream job she still attended school at St. John’s University where she obtained her Bachelor Degree. Sharon has enjoyed a 20-year career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons rising through the ranks from a correctional officer to a lieutenant. Her employment with the Bureau has afforded her the opportunity to move from New York to Texas and now she resides in California. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, singing, playing with her dog, and making people laugh. She is currently working on another fiction novel based on her time spent working as a female correction officer in a male prison.
